Individuals & Teams

Requirements

  • Individuals/Teams: Please ensure an electronic version or card of your TA membership is available at event registration if required.
Teams: Each team member MUST complete online registration information. If any team details are incomplete online, the relevant member(s) MUST present at registration to complete the entry before the race kit is released.

HOTW Registration Timings

Saturday 7th March
2:00 – 5:00 pm
HOTW race registration at the Goondiwindi Town Park.
5:00 pm
HOTW Welcome & Race Briefing in the Town Park (an electronic version will be available).
Tip
Highly recommended all competitors attend the briefing—last-minute course or wave start changes can occur due to unforeseen weather.
Expo
HOTW Expo open during registration, including the HOTW Merchandise tent.
Food & Drink
Food and drinks available in the Town Park. The HELL BAR will be open for adult refreshments from 4:00 pm.

On Race Day

Transition

  • Bike racking is event day only.
  • Opens 4:30am Sunday, closes 5:30am (no late entry for any competitors).
  • Athlete Bag Drop at tennis court at exit of transition.
  • Bike pick up from approximately 11am.

Swim Leg – 2km

Highly likely to be a non-wetsuit swim. Final call made by officials on Saturday.
  • Out-and-back loop in the Macintyre River.
  • Town pool opens 5am for swim warm-up. (no warm-up at river)
  • Wave starts approx. 6:00am (finalised closer to event).

Cycle Leg – 80km

  • Out-and-back course on flat country roads.
  • Full aid station at 40km turnaround; water station at 60km.

Run Leg – 20km

  • 3-loop course along Macintyre River banks.
  • Plenty of crowd support.
  • Aid stations every ~1.5km: water, ice, coke, sports hydration.

Cut Off Times

Competitors may continue only if medical/official staff believe they can safely complete without disruption.

Post Race

Recovery

  • The HOTW Recovery Tent run by the L.A.C. (Local Ambulance Committee) is known as one of the best in triathlon — enjoy!
  • The Town Pool is available free of charge for competitors to cool down.

Bike & Bag Pickup

  • Bag drop is open for pickup as soon as you finish.
  • Bike Transition opens approximately 11am for bike pickup.
  • You must show your race number to enter the transition area.

Presentations

  • Presentation will be in the park at approximately 1pm.
  • Cash prizes (Elite/Open) — competitors must be present to collect.
  • Age Group and Team podium medals awarded.
  • Triathlon Club awards announced.
  • Random prizes also awarded at presentations.

After Party
