Clydesdales & Athenas
Clydesdales: 90+ kgs ⎯ Athenas: 70+ kgs
- 1st Place only ⎯ Carton of beer
- Weigh-in required at registration
Special Awards
- Neil Pagey Award — Triathlon Club with the most HOTW finishers (individual & teams) ⎯ 1st Place: 2 cartons of beer
- Goondiwindi Tri Club Award — Club showing the most “spirit”, awarded by Gundy Tri Club President ⎯ 1st Place: 1 carton of beer
- Allan Pitman Award — In Memory of HOTW Legend, awarded to fastest Age grouper Male and Female - Name etched on champions board
Super Saturday — Presentations & Prizes
Prize money will only be awarded in person at presentation — it will not be posted or collected by proxy. All Super Saturday awards are presented at approximately 11:30am on Saturday after final race finish.

Hell Kids
- Participation event only ⎯ no awards
- All kids receive a HOTW race cap at finish line
State Championship Status
HOTW is the QLD Long Course State Championship, hosting the 2025/26 AusTriathlon QLD State Series.
- Championship titles awarded to 1st, 2nd, 3rd eligible athletes
- Eligible competitors placing top 10 in their Age Group receive double points
- Eligibility requires current AusTriathlon Standard or Premium membership
PTO World Rankings Points Event
Hell of the West is recognised as a PTO World Ranking Event.
- The PTO Ranking system identifies and ranks the world’s best triathletes
- Points earned at HOTW contribute to professional athletes’ global ranking and career progression
- The PTO does not provide financial support, but has recognised HOTW as meeting world-class standards
