The Hell of the West partnership
The Hell of the West are excited to announce we are now an event partner with The Spirit Tri Series. This race series was developed in Europe to support long-standing, iconic independent races, and promote the traditions of long course triathlon;
- Tough and fair courses for true test of endurance.
- Fair pricing that allows accessibility to all levels of athlete.
- Community participation built around local triathlon clubs.
So when Spirit Multisport looked to expand their series into Asia Pacific region the iconic Hell of the West which has been known as “Qld toughest triathlon” since 1989 was an obvious choice. Watch this space for more developments!

The Spirit Tri Series was created by Spirit Multisport to provide a better experience for triathletes, audiences and partners with the objective of benefiting the sport overall.

The Spirit Tri Series is supported by two internationally successful triathletes
The four time Ironman World Champion has created her own professional team within the League, the Daniela Ryf Birds. Consisting of four professional and developing professional athletes, the team competed in all four series events, with Daniela racing along side her team at Triathlon Alpe d'Huez and Transvorarlberg Triathlon..
Daniela competed in the Triathlon Alpe d'Huez in July this year, winning in spectacular fashion.
The Olympic Gold and Silver medalist supports the series through her social media platforms and as a co-founder of Spirit Multisport.
Spirit Championship Qualifier – Alpe D'Huez Triathlon
As a partner event, athletes who wish to secure a starting place at one of the world's most iconic triathlons, the Triathlon Alpe D'Huez in France are able to do so by competing in the Hell of The West Triathlon. Reserved spots for the long distance event will be available for participants who finish Top 10 in their age groups and register with a special code within one month of the HOTW.
